Shooting slings - for more calm and stability when shooting

Shooting slings stabilize the stance. Shooting slings are essential for prone and kneeling shooting, as they carry the rifle and relieve muscle strain. This allows the sport rifle to be held much more steadily – virtually motionless. In professional sports, the shooting sling is a must and a must!

Put on the shooting sling and eliminate your pulse

Biathletes are exhausted when it's time to shoot. Even in sport shooting, the pulse can be transmitted to the stance. Shooting slings are regularly worn in biathlon – both in kneeling and prone shooting. For sport shooters, shooting slings also prevent annoying movements at the muzzle. Pulse pulses are transmitted primarily from the left upper arm, the palms of the hands, the chest, and the stomach area. With the shooting sling, the pull must come from the outside of the upper arm. This relieves pressure on the inner side of the arm and the artery. If the shooting sling is held by the jacket, it won't slip while shooting.

More stability with the shooting sling

The shooting sling increases stability because it connects the bones of the arm. A shooting sling enables greater stability without the use of force. Complete relaxation of the left arm and hand is only possible with the shooting sling. The sling is attached high on the upper arm or directly above the crook of the elbow. A sling holder on the jacket holds the selected position. To avoid pulse transmission, the sling is pulled from the outside (upper arm).

Book with seven seals - left arm and shooting sling

Shooters who fire with their right hand place the shooting sling over their left upper arm – and vice versa for left-handed shooters. The left arm is particularly important when shooting prone. It holds the weapon and carries the shooting sling. The left arm determines the height and direction of the shot. For the weapon to rest securely, the left elbow must find its stable point. Ultimately, proper posture in the prone position also determines a successful shot.

Sling Hooks on Jacket and Arm

The sling is also called a support sling or arm loop. In English, the sling is called a "sniper sling." Right-handed shooters wear the sling on their left upper arm, while left-handed shooters wear it on their right. The sling in biathlon primarily stabilizes the weapon during prone shooting. The sling doesn't always have to be worn; sometimes it's attached to the weapon. Hooking the carrying sling onto the arm loop allows for a compact position. Hooks for jackets to hang the sling are also available.
