Shooting sling - for more calm and stability when shooting

Shooting straps stabilize the shooting position. Shooting sling straps are essential for prone and kneeling shooting, as they support the rifle and take the strain off the muscles. This allows the sports rifle to be held much more steadily - almost motionless. In professional sports, the shooting sling is a must!

Put on the shooting sling and eliminate the pulse

Biathletes are exhausted when it comes to shooting. In sports shooting, the heart rate can also be transferred to the shot. Shooting straps are worn regularly in biathlon - both for kneeling and prone shooting. Shooting straps also prevent disturbing movements at the muzzle in sports shooting. Pulse beats are mainly transmitted from the left upper arm, the palms of the hands, the chest and the stomach area. With the shooting sling, the pull must come from the outside of the upper arm. This relieves the pressure on the inside of the arm with the artery. If the shooting sling is held by the jacket, it will not slip when shooting

More stability with the shooting sling

The shooting sling increases stability because it connects the bones of the arm. A shooting sling provides better stability without the use of force. Absolute relaxation of the left arm and hand is only possible with the shooting sling. The sling is fixed high on the upper arm or directly over the crook of the elbow. A strap holder on the jacket holds the selected position. To avoid pulse transmission, the strap is pulled from the outside (upper arm on the outside)

A closed book - left arm and shooting sling

Shooters who fire the gun with the right arm place the sling over the left upper arm - and vice versa for left-handed shooters. The left arm is particularly important when shooting prone. It holds the weapon and carries the sling. The height and direction of the shot are determined by the left arm. The left elbow must find its stable point so that the weapon rests securely. Ultimately, the correct statics in the prone position are also decisive for a successful shot

Shooting sling - hook on jacket and arm

The shooting sling is also known as the support sling or arm sling. In English, the shooting sling is called a "sniper sling". The right-handed shooter wears the shooting sling on the left upper arm, the left-handed shooter on the right. The main purpose of the shooting sling in biathlon is to stabilize the weapon when shooting prone. It is not always necessary to put on the shooting sling, sometimes it is also attached to the weapon. If the sling is hooked onto the arm loop, this enables a compact position. Hooks for the jacket to attach the sling are also available
